The staff report would include information about a licensing fee to support enforcement and administration of a short-term accommodation licensing system, if Brockton were to pursue it. Dozens of municipalities in Ontario have implemented licensing systems and enhanced regulations for AirBNBs and other short-term rental (STR) properties in recent years. Brockton council will discuss the motion for a staff report at it’s meeting tonight (Tuesday) at 7 p.m.
