Taylor Farms, apparently determined to make “eat your vegetables” sound like a high-risk activity, is recalling a selection of prepared foods containing jalapeños over concerns they may be contaminated with salmonella. They’re recalling prepared foods containing jalapeños from Walmart, Kroger, Whole Foods and other retailers after the peppers were linked to a salmonella outbreak that has sickened 345 people across 27 states. The recall comes just weeks after Taylor Farms recalled iceberg lettuce amid a separate cyclospora outbreak, which has already caused consumers to eye salads with the same suspicion normally reserved for gas-station sushi. Meanwhile, the CDC and FDA are investigating the salmonella outbreak. Taylor Farms said it was unaware of any illnesses linked to the recalled products.
