SAN MARCOS — San Marcos residents may have a new grocery store option in their future, as Trader Joe’s announces plans to open a location in the growing North City area. North City developers announced plans for the new Trader Joe’s on Monday. “I’m happy to confirm that we have plans to open a new Trader Joe’s store in the North City area of San Marcos. Trader Joe’s is the latest new business planned for the urban downtown area near Cal State San Marcos, along with Haggo’s Organic Taco, Honor Pilates and padel sport center Padel N9NE. “Every great neighborhood needs a great grocery store, and Trader Joe’s is a natural fit for North City,” said Darren Levitt, Sea Breeze Properties principal.
