BJP is Playing the Politics of Division in Punjab: Dr. Sikandar SinghCHANDIGARH: Reacting to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s statement promising a 10 percent reservation for Denotified Tribes (Vimukt Jatis) in Punjab—on the lines of Haryana—should the BJP form the government, Dr. Sikandar Singh has strongly criticized the party.
Dr. Singh, Head of the Punjabi Department at Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, stated that this promise once again exposes the BJP’s politics of creating divisions among the people.
Rooted in “Divide and Rule” Dr. Sikandar Singh asserted that the fundamental base of the BJP rests on the Brahmanical principle of division, a mindset that is clearly reflected in its policies.
Contrary to the Gurus’ Teachings Highlighting the spiritual and social foundations of the state, Dr. Singh stated that the Sikh Gurus bestowed Punjab with the principles of equality and universal brotherhood.
A Warning for 2027 Elections Concluding his statement, Dr. Sikandar Singh remarked that while political deception may occasionally succeed in Punjab, double-faced politics played in the name of the Gurus is ultimately rejected by the people.
