MÉRIDA, YUCATAN — The City of Mérida has expanded its vibrant cultural offerings with the launch of a new video mapping segment dedicated to honoring Indigenous peoples. Titled “Pueblos Indígenas,” the new segment was introduced by municipal cultural authorities as part of ongoing efforts to preserve regional heritage, foster social inclusion, and offer high-value cultural experiences for both local families and international tourists. Local officials noted that the video mapping display remains one of Mérida’s most popular free outdoor cultural attractions, regularly drawing hundreds of visitors to the Plaza Grande every weekend. “This new segment is a tribute to the living Maya culture that shapes our identity every day,” expressed municipal representatives during the inauguration. The updated video mapping show takes place every Friday at 8:00 p.m. outside the Municipal Palace, offered completely free of charge to the general public.
