Daniel Berger won’t compete in the FedEx Cup playoffs despite qualifying for the second straight year. Berger did not commit to play in this week’s playoff opener in Memphis, the FedEx St. Jude Championship. Berger, 33, missed the better part of two years on tour due to a serious back injury. This season, Berger finished 60 in the points race even as he withdrew from last week’s Wyndham Championship, the PGA Tour’s regular-season finale. The top 70 players in the season-long points race qualify for Memphis, and Berger won’t be replaced in the field, leaving 69 competitors at the St. Jude.
