The outline planning application, submitted by Wain Homes in April 2025, relates to land off London Road near the A533 Peckmill Roundabout to the south of Mere Heath. The application was debated by members of the planning committee on Tuesday, August 4, during a meeting lasting around 90 minutes. "The applicant would love you to believe it is in Davenham, while actually it is within the Bostock parish area. "This was an outline planning application with everything reserved apart from access. Cllr Marr added that he believes Wain Homes is 'more than likely' to appeal the decision to the Planning Inspectorate.
