By: Virgin Islands Free Press News DeskKINGSHILL — A afternoon shooting outside the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands on St. Croix has left a 21-year-old man dead, marking the island’s 18th homicide of 2026 and the 31st territory-wide.
The Virgin Islands Police Department identified the victim as Angel “Two Bricks” Rodriguez III following notification of his next of kin.
Emergency Callers Report Gunfire Near Court FacilityAccording to police statements, the St. Croix 911 Emergency Call Center received multiple reports of gunfire near the Superior Court complex at approximately 2:06 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026.
Upon arriving at the Kingshill judicial site, responding officers located an unresponsive male inside a vehicle positioned near the entrance to the Superior Court parking lot.
The death brings the territory’s total homicide count for 2026 to 31, with 18 recorded on St. Croix and 13 on St. Thomas.
