BRAZIL: Marcopolo Rail has delivered the first of three diesel multiple-units it is supplying for the 17 km diesel suburban network serving Teresina, capital of Piauí state.
Marcopolo Rail is building two two-car and one three-car Prosper City DMUs at its Caxias do Sul plant for state government-owned operator CFLP under an October 2025 contract.
The DMU has 1 100 mm high entrances for the high platforms and wide doors.
Extension and reconstructionIn June, a 1.1 km, one-station extension of the Y-shaped, metre-gauge network opened from Colorado to Todos os Santos.
The Teresina network is currently being renovated and a double-tracked in places to boost capacity.
