A large police presence has been on the road, close to the Shell Garage with sirens heard by residents at about 5pm. The road was closed in both directions between the garage and Ash Road, and has since been reopened. A police spokeswoman said no serious injuries were suffered in the crash. A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said this evening: "The road was closed in both directions for a short time but is now open. "Several vehicles were involved but no serious injuries were reported."
