The Felker Fire 18 kilometres South of Williams Lake has not seen any significant growth over the past 24 hours.
Ground crews are supported in their work by water tenders and a heavy equipment strike team as well as aviation support.
“Given he lightning that tracked through the region Saturday and the potential for lightning-caused holdover fires, crews on the Felker Fire may assist the Central Cariboo Fire Zone with new starts if required” BC Wildfire Service said.
In addition to the firefighters and support personnel, there are 3 helicopters, 17 pieces of heavy equipment and 1 Incident Management Team assign to this fire.
“The Felker Fire is a multi agency response, with ground crews from Quebec, Alberta and the Yukon conducting mop up operations alongside BC Wildfire Service, contract crews and local heavy equipment operators.”
