LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Aug, 2026) Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi on Tuesday reviewed traffic arrangements for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, directing the officers to ensure accident-free roads and foolproof traffic management across the city. The CTO reviewed the traffic arrangements for mega events planned for Independence Day, noting that fireworks displays were expected at six different locations, besides several rallies and other activities. He said a large number of citizens from other districts were also expected to visit Lahore to celebrate Independence Day, making effective traffic management a top priority. According to the comprehensive traffic plan, three SPs, 16 DSPs, 500 traffic inspectors, and more than 2,000 traffic wardens would be deployed across Lahore on Independence Day. The meeting was attended by SSP City Zone Maqsood Loon, SSP Sadar Zone Hafiz Khizar Zaman, SP Headquarters Fakhar Bashir Raja, zonal SSPs, and circle officers.
