In 2024, plans were lodged to turn the vacant shop premises, which is adjacent to Souter's Inn, into holiday accommodation by Ayrshire hotelier tycoon Bill Costley.
The plans approved by South Ayrshire Council would have seen the interior turned into four generous bedrooms, with en-suite and communal bathroom facilities.
A second planning application submitted to South Ayrshire Council earlier this year to change the use of the vacant retail premises to a dwellinghouse has now been approved.
"To facilitate the sale of this property it is necessary to obtain planning permission for a change of use to a house.
"The proposal would secure the beneficial reuse of the premises and prevent the continued vacancy of the building.
