Burlington High School students have installed four Little Free Libraries in city parks, giving local children easy access to books this summer. Students in Tracy Thompson’s cabinetmaking class built the libraries using materials donated by Standard of Beaverdale. Students also raised money by selling popcorn and candy donated by Big River Popcorn and Treats. The libraries were painted by students and installed in July at Perkins, Crapo, South Hill and Riverside parks. Kopping says the locations near playgrounds will make it easy for children to borrow a book, keep one they enjoy and replace it with another.
