Police name 11-year-old girl who died near Gorebridge

Police have named the 11-year-old girl who died following an incident in the Gore Glen area, near Gorebridge as Faith Curran.
Faith’s family reported her missing in the area around 12.40pm on Thursday, 6 August, 2026.
Her body was found in the Gore Water near to Shanks Bridge around 4.25pm.
They describe Faith as a “happy, adventurous, and outgoing girl who enjoyed life”.
The death is being treated as unexplained however there are not believed to be suspicious circumstances.
