Essential bridge refurbishments have been taking place on the route since May, and are due to last until December. These have been undertaken by Amey under continuous 24-hour temporary traffic lights, with a weight restriction also imposed on the structure. Full closures of the A77 between Shallochpark Roundabout and Innermessan will be required on various nights between August and November. Southbound traffic will be diverted via the A714, Wigtown Road Junction, the A75 westbound and the A751 northbound, where they will be able to re-join the A77 southbound. Local access will be maintained during the full closures.
