The research found that EV and ICEV fires demonstrated similar fire growth rates, peak fire sizes and durations during free-burn experiments. Researchers also found that adding a suppression agent to water did not provide a greater benefit than water alone. “First responders can effectively manage the hazard with familiar tools and tactics,” said Adam Barowy, principal research engineer at the Fire Safety Research Institute.
