Narture CIC has taken over the former Beatties Toy Shop on Newmarket Street, which has been empty for over a decade, having been a prominent feature for more than 30 years previously. The social enterprise aims to create the Auld Toy Shop, a project dedicated to creativity, play, skills development, and town centre regeneration. The Narture team hosted a launch event at the end of last month for interested people to see what is happening with the Auld Toy Shop and discover how they can get involved in the exciting project. "We have our bakery at Cathcart Street, and some other spaces on Newmarket Street and the Sandgate. "It's been derelict for 12 years and had been a toy shop since the 80s.
