The IndependentHistory was made in Lake Huron as a Toronto swimmer completed a trek across the Great Lake. Lev Goldberg aims to be the first trans athlete to swim across all of the Great Lakes. Wednesday, he dove into the waters of Lake Huron off Port Sanilac, Michigan at 6:30 am and the Toronto Great Lakes marathon swimmer averaged 1.87 km per hour and will walked onto Ipperwash Beach around 12:17 pm Thursday. Goldberg was the first trans athlete to make a Great Lakes crossing and plans to complete all of the lakes in the next few years. The swimmer is raising money to support the LGBT YouthLine.
