CopySight AI Inc., the Mar Vista-based artificial intelligence governance platform, announced in late July that it raised $3 million in seed funding. CopySight was built to help entertainment studios determine whether AI-generated media is copyright-free — and to help them avoid exactly that kind of infringement risk. “We see CopySight as defining the IP layer for generative AI and modern content creation,” David Borcsok, a partner at Mucker Capital, said in a statement. In 2023, a handful of artists filed a class action lawsuit against several generative AI companies. CopySight users include the downtown-based independent entertainment studio AGBO, the AI media generator OpenArt.ai and the law firm ArentFox Schiff.
