Does Maine law require employers to disclose pay ranges in job ads? | Fact brief

Maine employers with 10 or more employees must now include a prospective pay range in all job postings.
Commission-only jobs do not need a pay range, but the posting must say compensation is based solely on commission.
Still, all employers must give current employees the pay range for their position upon request and keep position and pay records for three years after employment ends.
The bill’s sponsor, state Rep. Amy Roeder, D-Bangor, said the law gives applicants pay information before they apply, helps employers set expectations and promotes pay parity.
