An Aylmer man has been fined $3,000 for deer hunting and firearm violations. Last December, Ryan Nancekivell encountered a conservation officer at a controlled deer hunt in Bayham, 20 minutes after legal hunting had ended. His firearm was still loaded, not encased and he did not possess a valid controlled deer hunt validation for 2025. It was determined that his deer tag was at camp and used the previous day by another individual on a deer taken during the controlled hunt. Nancekivell pleaded guilty to unlawfully hunting deer during a controlled deer hunt, unlawfully possessing a firearm at night and enabling another individual to unlawfully use his deer tag.
