Andrew “Drew” Miller, 41, appeared in McLean County Circuit Court for the request as well as to enter a not guilty plea to additional counts filed after he was initially arrested. Last month, a judge sided with McLean County prosecutors who asked that Miller be held in custody at the county jail while the allegations were pending. Under the state’s Pretrial Fairness Act, a person is allowed to ask a judge to reconsider that ruling. In all, Miller faces 56 charges that include allegations of grooming, possession of child sex materials and indecent solicitation of a child. Miller was a cheerleading coach at University High School and Lexington High School, as well as a teacher for Chiddix.
