Orioles pitching prospect Anthony Eyanson made his organizational debut with Double-A Chesapeake on Aug. 8, five days after he was acquired from the Boston Red Sox in the hours ahead of the trade deadline.
He was playing Fortnite with his brothers when got a call from Red Sox senior director of player development Brian Abraham, who notified him that he had been dealt to Baltimore.
I’m not somebody that’s going to really be down on myself or think too much about it,” Eyanson said of his immediate reaction following the trade.
I think that’s what makes pitchers good, and that’s been my emphasis just on work from high school to college to now.”
Eyanson, 21, was drafted by the Red Sox in the third round of the 2025 MLB Draft and signed for an over-slot bonus of $1.75 million.
