An air quality warning for Creston and surrounding areas has been upgraded to orange for the next 24 to 48 hours as wildfire smoke affects the region.
People are advised to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, spend time indoors in spaces with cleaner air, stay cool and drink plenty of fluids.
People are also encouraged to check on those in their care or nearby who may be more susceptible to wildfire smoke.
