PFA inspects 57 food points, fines 15 outlets Rs 211,000 for violations

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Aug, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) inspected 57 food points across the district and imposed a collective fine of Rs 211,000 on 15 outlets for hygiene and food safety violations on Tuesday.
According to a PFA spokesperson, the food safety teams also issued formal improvement notices to 19 other food outlets, directing the management to upgrade hygiene standards and comply strictly with safety regulations.
62 kilograms of expired and banned food items.
The PFA official reaffirmed that zero tolerance would be observed against those endangering public health and that regular inspections would continue to ensure the provision of safe and wholesome food to citizens.
The inspections were carried out under the supervision of PFA Deputy Director Sadia Rafat as part of ongoing efforts to ensure quality food standards.
