Warwick District Council has confirmed that bin collections across the district, including Leamington, will begin earlier than normal from Wednesday 12 to Friday 14 August because of the ongoing hot weather. The change comes as an amber heat-health alert covers the West Midlands region until 9pm on Friday, with the Met Office separately warning that temperatures could reach the mid-30s Celsius, peaking around Thursday. The council has asked residents to put their refuse, recycling, garden and food waste bins out the evening before their scheduled collection, or by 5am at the latest on collection day itself, to allow crews to complete their rounds before the heat intensifies later in the day. Residents can check their collection day and sign up for reminders via the council’s website or app.
