Plowmen and women will get a chance to show off their skills later this week at the Leeds County Plowing Match. Scheduled for Friday in Plum Hollow, registration for the main match takes place at 8:30 a.m. with the event starting at 9:30 a.m.Another match will see participants between ages 10 to 21 faceoff in the youth category. There will also be the regional Queen of the Furrow competition, with women and girls ages 12 to 30 taking part. The winner of that contest will go on to represent the region at the International Plowing Match in Walkerton in September to compete for the overall title. Lunch will be provided for participants on Friday and a barbecue for spectators is included.
