New York, Aug 11: A US judge has dismissed the fraud and bribery case against Indian billionaire industrialist Gautam Adani after the Trump administration decided to drop the allegations against him. Brooklyn federal judge Nicholas Garaufis formally approved a May request by prosecutors to dismiss the 2024 charges, according to court filings. The case had alleged that Adani participated in a $265 million scheme to bribe Indian officials in connection with lucrative solar energy supply contracts. The Adani Group is one of India’s largest business conglomerates, with interests spanning ports, power, cement and media. Adani, a vocal supporter of Trump on social media, welcomed the ruling, saying his faith in “truth, fairness and the rule of law” had remained unwavering.
