New Delhi, Aug 11: The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed a special court in Delhi to conclude within one year the trial in a UAPA case involving allegations of radicalisation of youth through cyberspace by terrorist organisations such as ISIS.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Heydaitullah in October 2022.
She said the case involved 12 accused, of whom four were absconding, while 14 protected witnesses were to be examined.
The Supreme Court directed the special court to complete the examination of vital and protected witnesses within six months and ensure that the entire trial is concluded within one year.
The NIA had registered an FIR in 2021 and subsequently arrested Heydaitullah in October 2022.
