Today, the University of South Africa (Unisa) has revealed that applications are open for a fully-funded Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) programme, that will cover the costs for six years of education in this challenging profession.
10 South African students who get into the programme will travel to UNAM’s School of Veterinary Medicine in Windhoek for the six years of study.
On return to South Africa, these students will be contributing to the development of the field at Unisa.
This partnership between Unisa and UNAM, then, is intended to not only fund the important education for ten South African students, but also provide a compounding boon for animal care locally.
“Under an existing reciprocity agreement, graduates will be eligible to register with the South African Veterinary Council without having to write additional examinations, allowing them to practise as veterinarians in South Africa.
