The centre, run by Everyone Active in partnership with Solihull Council, is in the final for the Healthy Communities Award category for its ‘Water Safety for Everyone’ project at the ukactive Awards. Other water-based skills taught included floating, treading water, sculling to improve buoyancy and safely entering and exiting the water. The initiative is part of a wider commitment by the leisure operator to make swimming and water safety opportunities more accessible for communities that need them most.
