Nagaland tax revenue surges to Rs 1,597 cr, registers 11.9% growth

A five-year revenue trajectory presented at the meeting showed total tax revenue rising from Rs 1,122.71 crore in 2021-22 to Rs 1,597.51 crore in 2025-26, marking an 11.9% per cent year-on-year growth in the last fiscal.
GST remained the largest component of the state's tax revenue, contributing Rs 1,181.88 crore or 74 per cent in 2025-26.
GST collection, comprising SGST and IGST, grew from Rs 187.57 crore in 2017-18 to Rs 1,181.88 crore in 2025-26, a growth of 530 per cent, the department said.
The department also stated that Nagaland recorded GST revenue growth of 37 per cent up to December 2025 and 28.4 per cent for 2025-26, both higher than the corresponding all-India averages.
