The number of wildfire evacuees hanging out in Prince George is shrinking. According to city officials, a few people impacted by the blazes, most notably in the Cariboo have headed home. Only 26 current evacuees are still in the northern capital. Manager of Emergency Programs Tanya Spooner noted that while the Emergency Reception Centre located behind the Kin Centre is available to assist anyone needing support, fewer people have come north during the 2026 wildfire season.
