KULM, N.D. — The Valley City Hi-Liner girls golf team set out with two goals Monday at the Edgeley-Kulm Invitational: improve its team score and move up from its fifth-place finish in Friday’s South Border Invitational. The Hi-Liners accomplished the first goal in impressive fashion, lowering their team score by 17 strokes from Friday. Valley City finished Monday with a 475, compared with a 492 in its season opener. The third Valley City senior, Ashlynn Hartsell, also closed her round on a strong note. While Valley City remained in fifth place as a team, its 17-stroke improvement from the season opener provided an encouraging sign early in the season.
