ShareTesla’s dominance in the UK electric vehicle market is facing a severe challenge, with company figures revealing that annual deliveries dropped 9% to 45,239 vehicles. UK revenues for Elon Musk’s electric car giant similarly slipped 6% to £1.83bn, marking a continuation of downward momentum following a 21% revenue decline the previous year. The downturn comes as low-cost Chinese alternatives rapidly capture British market share. The company’s second-quarter profits fell 17% to $1.2bn after price cuts and the loss of regulatory credit income weighed on margins.
