A seven-member Odisha Legislative Assembly standing committee is visiting Telangana and Tamil Nadu to study educational practices and institutional models that could help strengthen and reform the state’s technical education sector. The Departmental Standing Committee-7, headed by chairman Sudhir Ranjan Pattjoshi, began its study tour on August 6. The delegation later travelled to Tamil Nadu, where it visited Thiagarajar Engineering College in Madurai on August 9. Focus on technical education reformsThe committee also held detailed discussions with the college management on the importance of technical knowledge and its practical application. The study tour is aimed at gathering first-hand insights into educational practices and institutional models in Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
