CLEAR CREEK, Colo. (KRDO) -- A Colorado State Patrol (CSP) trooper and two others are in the hospital after a four-car crash on Interstate 70 east of the Eisenhower Tunnel. The incident happened on Monday, Aug. 10, around 10:45 a.m. and briefly shut down both sides of I-70. The trooper turned on his emergency lights and turned left to get towards the westbound lanes when a Subaru Forester going east hit the driver's side door of the patrol car. According to CSP, the trooper suffered injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital where he is expected to recover. The driver and passenger of the Subaru were both taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
