McGuffey School District Superintendent Dr. Andrew Oberg has resigned after accepting the top job at Greensburg Salem School District. McGuffey School Board announced Oberg’s resignation at its Aug. 6 meeting, a day after Oberg was hired to lead Greensburg Salem. The Greensburg Salem School Board hired Oberg on a five-year contract, ending in June 2031, with a base salary of $165,000. Oberg fills the vacancy left by former superintendent Ken Bissell, who departed the district to take a position at the Fox Chapel Area School District. The school board scheduled an executive session for Monday to talk with superintendent applicants and “to discuss further steps for filling this role.”
