PORTLAND, Ore. — Union Pacific has reaffirmed its plans to resume train traffic past the Centennial Mills warehouse in Portland, Ore., saying the move comes after “productive discussions” with the City of Portland.
“We strongly urge the city to take immediate steps — without delay — to address the Centennial Mills structure.”
[see “Union Pacific to resume … ,” Aug. 9, 2026].
Advance notice of train schedules to be given to the city and an on-site Union Pacific representative to facilitate real-time communications of train movement.
Passenger rail traffic remains disrupted, given that the Centennial Mills building is just north of Portland Union Station.
