‎Political strategist, Baba Yusuf has expressed concern regarding the thoughts of the wife of the President, Remi Tinubu and his son, Seyi, in light of recent remarks made against Christians by an Islamic cleric, Sheikh Jingir. ‎‎DAILY POST reported over the weekend that Sheikh Jingir, while addressing a political gathering attended by about three governors and prominent political figures, asserted that the country was for Muslims. ‎‎He further stated that anyone opposed to a Muslim-Muslim ticket should leave Nigeria, labeling Christians as ‘infidels.’ ‎‎Reacting, Yusuf, a Muslim, remarked that Sheikh Jingir’s comments regarding the Muslim-Muslim ticket were solely his own, driven by personal interests, and emphasized that such statements reflected religious intolerance. ‎‎“I must emphasize that Sheikh Jingir’s remarks are his own and stem from self-interest, as this is not the conduct we expect from political leaders, even within political circles; such statements are demagogic.
