On Wednesday, August 5, Governor Mark Gordon signed an Executive Order authorizing emergency relief permits for vehicles transporting oversize and overweight loads of livestock feed and livestock across Wyoming. As more hay is brought into Wyoming and moved around the state, the spread of noxious weeds becomes a real threat. The Wyoming Weed and Pest Council and the Wyoming Association of Conservation Districts urge hay buyers to be on the lookout for new weed infestations. Early detection and rapid response can save landowners thousands in future control costs if treated before weeds can spread. Hay buyers are being asked to report any signs of weeds or strange-looking plants to their local weed and pest districts.
