A benefit concert honors Jack DeJohnette, the drummer and composer whose work helped shape modern jazz for over five decades, drawing a lineup of players who crossed paths with him along the way. DeJohnette, who died last October, played on Miles Davis’s “Bitches Brew” and spent decades as the rhythmic backbone of Keith Jarrett’s Standards Trio, earning multiple Grammy Awards along the way. Dozens of musicians, including Bill Frisell, Esperanza Spalding and Ravi Coltrane, are scheduled to perform or speak. Proceeds support Family of Woodstock and The Table at Woodstock.
