Shots fired during theft from train on Cajon Pass

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — Shots were fired at BNSF Railway police on Monday, Aug. 10, during a theft from a freight train on Cajon Pass, KABC-TV reports.
The railroad told the station that the incident happened about 6:30 p.m. No officers or train crew members were injured.
The local news site Pain in the Pass reports officers responded to the incident at two locations in the pass: near Cleghorn Road and Cajon Boulevard, and at the 15 Freeway and 3N45 Fire Road.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department helicopters and a California Highway Patrol aircraft were also involved.
Officers are reported to have located at least two suspects, one of whom had a handgun; both were reportedly detained for questioning.
