A long-awaited landmark development in Kingston’s Historic Stockade District has officially moved into its initial phase of site preparation following the demolition of the former Uptown Grill diner. Brad Jordan, president of Herzog Supply Co. Inc. and Kingston Plaza, confirmed that the recent teardown of the Uptown Grill at 23 Fair St. marks the start of site work for the mixed-use Kingstonian development project. In a statement addressing recent site activity, Jordan noted: “Yes, the demolition is related to the Kingstonian project. We are demolishing the former diner as part of the site work. As originally planned, the scope of the Kingstonian project remains a comprehensive re-envisioning of the parcel connecting Fair Street and Wall Street near Kingston Plaza.
