Andrew Painter allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings in a win against the Cardinals. After a Justin Crawford strikeout, Edmundo Sosa singled Hill home to put the Phillies up 2-0. Kyle Schwarber singled, advancing to second base on a fielding error by Cardinals right fielder Jordan Walker. Bryce Harper then grounded into a double play, but the play allowed Schwarber to score, extending the Phillies lead to 3-0. Sosa then doubled into the left-center gap, scoring both runners to put the Phillies up 6-2.
