By the 1950s a headline declared, “It’s (an) easy day’s drive to St. Mary’s Glacier.”
A skier makes a few turns down the thin strip of St. Mary’s that remained on July 31.
In the most recent edition of “Hunting Powder,” he laments that “Sadly, in the not-too-distant future, St. Mary’s Glacier will be no more.”
