She talks about the kinship between plants and humans as a guiding light for her work. Her focus was on ethnobotany and ecology, studying how members of a cultural community make use of native plants. She looked into the wild, edible and medicinal plants of Colorado and knew immediately from her sophomore year that she wanted to make a guidebook. “Her book is a beautiful, hand-written and illustrated field guide that truly captures the magic of the edible and medicinal flora of our region,” said Phebe Meyers, ACES Community Programs director.
