St. Mark Lutheran Church in Mendon will continue celebrating its 125th year on Saturday, August 8th from noon – 2:00 pm with an Ice Cream Social, Open House and a Supply Drive benefitting Keeping Our Promise Inc. at the church, 18 Victor-Mendon RoadIce cream will be provided by 9-Cone-Cone, a family-owned ice cream business that was created in honor of all First Responders and is free. Visitors will be able to listen to Monica Smith demonstrate the church’s Hinners Pipe Organ, hear Marilyn Ryan share her memories as a child growing up at St Mark and browse the church’s 125-year timeline intertwined with US and local history. The church will also be collecting supplies for Keeping Our Promise Inc, a Rochester based comprehensive resettlement program for endangered wartime allies who served the US as interpreters and support personnel in conflict and war zones. Donations are now being accepted and may be placed in the blue bin inside the church foyer, in the brown box outside the church door after hours or dropped off during the Ice Cream Social and Open House.
