RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Aug, 2026) Rawalpindi Women University (RWU) observed National Minorities Day with a ceremony highlighting equality, religious harmony, tolerance and respect for the rights and dignity of religious minorities. Vice Chancellor(VC) RWU Prof. Dr Tayyaba Zarif cut the cake and expressed solidarity with Pakistan's religious minority communities, saying all citizens were equal stakeholders in the country and minority students and employees were an integral part of educational institutions and society. The VC said minority students and employees at RWU were equal members of the university community and providing them equal opportunities, respect and a dignified academic and professional environment remained among the institution's priorities. During the ceremony, certificates were distributed among students who secured prominent positions in poster designing and essay writing competitions organised in connection with National Minorities Day. University officers, faculty members and staff attended the ceremony.
